Manners, first. My name is Prairie Pug.

I live with Merry.

Merry married The Rancher.

We live in a house

in the middle of this Big Wide Open we call The Ranch.

We all take care of each other.

I quietly listen to Merry,

respect The Rancher,

and watch everything.

I also take a lot of naps.

Rural life sounds idyllic and restful,

but this is a pastoral myth.

Its very strenuous and

I make my rounds

every morning.

Naps and dreams help me process all of it.

I keep everyone calm and carrying on,

sometimes making them laugh.

That is my purpose,

to keep everyone as serene and happy

as one can possibly in this chaotic world of Rural.
